How was Panforte born?

Panforte originates from an ancient Sienese sweet called “panmelato”. The original recipe was enriched when the “speziali”, ancient pharmacists, added new ingredients to it.

INGREDIENTI: candied orange and citron peels 42% (glucose-fructose syrup, orange peel, ground orange peel, sugar, citron peel, acid: citric acid) – wheat flour (wheat) – almonds 13% – sugar – hazelnuts 9.5% (grains, paste) – glucose-fructose syrup – chicory fibre – icing sugar 2.5% (sugar, maize starch) – starch wafers (potato starch, sunflower oil, emulsifier: lecithins) – spice blend 0.3%. May contain soya, mustard, pistachios and walnuts. Despite careful checks, the product may contain shell fragments or residues. Store in a cool, dry place.
