How Panforte Originated
Panforte originated from an ancient Sienese dessert called ‘panmelato’. The original recipe was enriched when the ‘speziali’, ancient pharmacists, added new ingredients to it.

Baked confectionery product with figs and walnuts
INGREDIENTI: Ingredients: wheat flour (grain) – sugar – dried figs 14% – glucose-fructose syrup – walnuts 10% – raisins – icing sugar 3% (sugar, corn starch) – hazelnut paste 2.5% – starch wafer (potato starch, sunflower seed oil, emulsifier: lecithins). May contain mustard, almonds, pistachios, cashew nuts, pecan nuts, Brazil nuts, macadamia nuts and soya. Despite careful checks, the product may contain shell fragments or residues. Store in a cool, dry place.
