The origin of Ricciarelli

Ricciarelli take their name from Ricciardetto della Gherardesca who, upon returning from the Crusades, brought back to Tuscany some almond paste sweets that were an immediate and undisputed success.

INGREDIENTI: sugar – almonds 38% – icing sugar 7% (sugar, maize starch) – soluble chicory fibre – pasteurised free-range egg white – cocoa powder 1% – flavourings – cinnamon 0.5% – preservative: sorbic acid – raising agent: ammonium hydrogen carbonate – salt. May contain wheat, milk, soya, hazelnut and pistachio. Despite careful controls, the product may contain shell fragments or residues.
